Roundup for eBay sellers

Reselling apps for eBay sellers, compared

"Reselling app" can mean several different kinds of tool: a crosslister that posts one item to many marketplaces, a profit and inventory tracker built around eBay, eBay's own free research tools, or a spreadsheet. This page sorts the common choices into those groups and lists what each one says about itself, including the marketplaces it supports.

Disclosure: Strooply is made by The Stroop LLC, the publisher of this page, and Strooply is one of the products listed. Every other product name is a trademark of its respective owner. The short answer

Which kind of reselling app do you need?

Start with the job. If you list the same item on several marketplaces, a crosslister is built for that. If you sell mainly on eBay and want your real profit, fees, and records in one place, an eBay-focused tracker fits. If you only need to study what sells, eBay's own Product research is free to use with Seller Hub access. Strooply is an eBay-only app, so sellers who spread listings across many marketplaces may prefer a crosslister. Strooply publishes this page and is one of the products listed.

Categories

Four kinds of tool people call a reselling app

Crosslisters and listing managers

Vendoo, List Perfectly, and Crosslist let you create a listing once and post it to several marketplaces, then mark it sold or delist it elsewhere when it sells. Vendoo and List Perfectly name eBay alongside marketplaces such as Poshmark and Mercari on their pricing pages.[1][2] Crosslist says it supports 11+ marketplaces.[3]

Profit and inventory trackers

Strooply, Flipwise, SellerHound, and Flippd describe tracking inventory, fees, and profit.[S2][4][6][8] They differ in how much they do before and after the sale, and in which platforms they cover.

eBay's own free tools

Seller Hub and Product research sit inside your eBay account. Product research shows sales trends and average sales prices from eBay's own data.[9]

Fit

When each one fits

Strooply

A fit if: You sell mainly on eBay and want one phone app from the thrift aisle to the tax summary. Strooply does not list on other marketplaces, so it is a weaker fit if most of your sales happen elsewhere.

Vendoo

A fit if: You sell on several marketplaces and want unlimited items on every paid plan.[1]

List Perfectly

A fit if: You crosslist heavily and want a barcode scanner and eBay pricing lookup inside the crosslister.[2]

Crosslist

A fit if: You want a crosslister with several price steps based on how many new listings you add each month.[3]

Flipwise

A fit if: You run an eBay store and want automatic relisting and repricing along with bookkeeping, and you are fine using a web app.[6][7]

SellerHound

A fit if: You use an iPhone, sell on eBay, and mostly want sales, expense, and mileage tracking at one monthly price.[8]

Flippd

A fit if: You want a lower-priced inventory and expense tracker with a free tier to try first.[4]

eBay Product research

A fit if: You want to study demand for a product or category using eBay's own data before you buy.[9]

Choosing

How to choose

  • Count your marketplaces. If most of your inventory sits on three or four sites, a crosslister saves the most typing. If nearly everything is on eBay, a crosslister's main feature goes unused and an eBay-focused app may fit better.
  • Decide where the numbers should come from. A tool that syncs with your eBay account can pull fees and shipping costs for you, while a spreadsheet needs every figure entered by hand. Check which charges each app actually includes in profit.
  • Look at how the price scales. Some apps charge by listing count, some by plan tier, and some by store size. Work out what you would pay at your current number of listings and at double that.
  • Check the phone situation. Some apps are native on iOS and Android, one is iPhone only, and one is a web app you add to your home screen. If you source on your phone, this matters.
  • Use free options first. Several products here offer a free plan or a trial. Test one with items you already know the outcome of before you move your whole inventory.
  • Remember eBay's own tools. Product research and Seller Hub cost nothing extra for sellers with access, and they can sit beside any app on this list.

For the numbers behind a single item, the eBay fee and profit calculator shows fees and profit for a sale, the eBay profit tracker follows profit across every item, and eBay inventory management covers keeping track of what you own and where it is.

Questions

Reselling apps FAQ

What is the difference between a crosslister and an eBay profit tracker?

A crosslister helps you create listings and post them to several marketplaces, then keeps them in sync when something sells. Vendoo, List Perfectly, and Crosslist work this way.[1][2][3] A profit tracker focuses on what you paid, what fees you were charged, and what you kept, which is the job described by Flipwise, SellerHound, Flippd, and Strooply.[4][6][8] Some products blur the line, so read what each one describes.

Is there a free reselling app for eBay sellers?

Several products here describe a free option. Flippd lists a free plan with 20 inventory items, and Flipwise lists stores under 25 listings as free.[4][5] Strooply has a free plan with no credit card.[S1] eBay's Product research is available to sellers with Seller Hub access.[9] Free plans have limits, so check what is capped before you rely on one.

Does Strooply work with marketplaces other than eBay?

No. Strooply is built for eBay only.[S2] If you list the same items on Poshmark, Mercari, or similar sites, a crosslister is designed for that, and some trackers here can record sales from other platforms.[2][6]

Do I need an app, or is a spreadsheet enough?

A spreadsheet can be enough when you sell a small number of items and are willing to enter fees, shipping, and costs yourself. An app helps more as volume grows because it can pull sales from eBay for you. You can start with the eBay sales spreadsheet template and move to an app later.

Why does Strooply publish this page?

Strooply is an eBay reseller app, and people searching for a reselling app are often comparing tools like these. We list what each product says about itself, cite it, and say plainly when something is not described. Details can change, so check each product's own page before you decide.
