Delete from inside the app (recommended)

If you can still sign in, this is the fastest way and gives you immediate confirmation.

  1. Open the Strooply app on your iOS or Android device.
  2. Tap your profile photo (top-right) to open Account Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  4. Read the confirmation screen, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Permanently delete my account.
  5. You'll be signed out immediately. Your account is scheduled for permanent purge on the next hourly run.

Owners of multi-user organizations: Deleting your account also deletes the organization and removes access for any Lister teammates you've added. Transfer ownership first if you want the organization to continue.

Can't sign in? Request deletion by email

If you've lost access to your account (forgotten password, lost device, locked out), email us and we'll process the deletion manually.

  1. Email [email protected] from the email address tied to your Strooply account.
  2. Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request".
  3. Include your account email, and (if known) your eBay seller username so we can locate the right record.
  4. We will verify your identity by replying to your registered email address before processing the deletion.
  5. You'll receive a confirmation once the purge is complete (within 30 days).

What is deleted vs. what is retained

When you delete your account, we permanently remove the data you created and gave us. A small amount of data is retained because U.S. law requires it for tax, audit, or fraud-prevention purposes; never for marketing or analytics.

Permanently deleted

  • Account profile (name, email, password, date of birth)
  • Organization and team membership
  • Inventory items and product details
  • Listing drafts and queue
  • Published listing metadata mirrored from eBay
  • eBay financial records (orders, payouts) we synced
  • eBay OAuth tokens (encrypted access & refresh tokens)
  • eBay account link/unlink history
  • Transactions and bookkeeping entries
  • Sourcing receipts and OCR data
  • Sourcing locations (home address, trip stops)
  • Inventory photos, receipt scans, and your avatar (R2 object storage)
  • Research history and saved searches
  • Org settings and pending team invitations
  • Security logs and request logs tied to your user ID
  • Pending or in-flight background jobs

Retained for legal compliance

  • Consent records: IP, device ID, and timestamp captured at signup, ToS acceptance, onboarding, and eBay linking. Required by U.S. e-signature law (E-SIGN / UETA) and hashed weekly to the Bitcoin blockchain. Retained indefinitely.
  • Subscription / payment records: Held by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat under their own terms. We do not store credit-card data; the merchant of record retains transaction records as required by tax and consumer-protection law.
  • Anonymized crash & performance data: Sentry traces with no personal identifiers, retained per Sentry's standard 30-90 day window.
  • System operational logs: Internal job-run records (no personal data) retained for a short audit window.

How long does deletion take?

When you confirm deletion, your account is immediately marked for purge and you are signed out of every device. A scheduled job runs once per hour and permanently destroys all data listed above, including every photo and receipt scan in our object storage. In normal operation the purge completes within an hour. To allow for backups, queued jobs, and operational delays, we guarantee the purge completes within 30 days at the latest.

Once the purge runs, the deletion is irreversible. We cannot restore an account, listing, photo, or receipt after that point.

What about my eBay listings?

Deleting your Strooply account removes our copy of your eBay data and revokes our access to your eBay account. Listings already published to eBay remain on eBay: they are owned by your eBay account, not by Strooply. To remove published listings from eBay itself, end them in eBay before or after deleting your Strooply account.

Can I delete just some of my data?

Strooply does not currently offer partial data deletion. The "Delete Account" flow is the only deletion path; it removes everything covered above in a single step. If you need to remove a single listing, photo, or receipt, you can delete it directly from inside the app while signed in.
