Stock you hold
Each row answers four questions: what is it, where is it, what did it cost and is it still unsold.
One row per item or lot you hold, with columns for the SKU, where it is stored, what you paid and whether it is still active. Download the CSV and open it in Google Sheets or Excel. No account is needed, and nothing is uploaded: the CSV is built in your browser.

Each row answers four questions: what is it, where is it, what did it cost and is it still unsold.
A Custom SKU column and a Storage Location column sit next to the cost, so you can find an item and know what it cost.
The first group of columns uses the names Strooply's CSV import recognizes, so a saved CSV maps without renaming.
One CSV file: a header row and three rows of sample numbers, each marked SAMPLE, to show the format. Delete them and enter your own stock. The CSV has no formulas, so the two math columns are explained below.
Title,Custom SKU,eBay Item ID,Status,Listing Price,Listing Date,Purchase Price,Purchase Date,Purchase Location,Purchase Lot,Storage Location,Qty Remaining,Condition,Brand,Platform,Notes,Total Cost,Days in Stock SAMPLE cast iron skillet,S-001,,Active,40.00,2026-02-20,6.00,2026-02-12,Thrift store,Sample lot A,Shelf B,1,Used,Example Brand,eBay,"Sample numbers, delete this row",6.00, SAMPLE paperback bundle,S-002,,Active,9.00,,3.00,2026-02-15,Garage sale,Sample lot B,Bin 4,2,Used,Example Brand,eBay,"Sample numbers, delete this row",6.00, SAMPLE Robinson Crusoe 1900,S-003,,Sold,55.00,2026-02-20,12.00,2026-02-10,Estate sale,Sample lot C,Shelf A,0,Used,Example Brand,eBay,"Sample numbers, delete this row",0.00,
To open the CSV in Google Sheets, choose File, then Import, then Upload. In Excel, choose File, then Open. The file has no macros and makes no network calls.
The first group uses the same column names Strooply's CSV import recognizes. Dates are easiest to read as YYYY-MM-DD.
| Column | What to enter | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Title | The listing title or a short name | SAMPLE cast iron skillet |
| Custom SKU | Your own label for the item, unique to this item | BIN4-017 |
| eBay Item ID | The item number from the listing, once it is listed | Leave blank if not listed |
| Status | Active or Sold. Move the row to Sold when the item sells | Active |
| Listing Price | The price you listed at, or plan to list at | 40.00 |
| Listing Date | The date you listed it, YYYY-MM-DD | 2026-02-20 |
| Purchase Price | What you paid for one unit | 6.00 |
| Purchase Date | The date you bought it, YYYY-MM-DD | 2026-02-12 |
| Purchase Location | Where you bought it | Thrift store |
| Purchase Lot | A name for the lot or trip it came from | February thrift run |
| Storage Location | Bin, shelf or room | Shelf B |
| Qty Remaining | How many units you still hold | 1 |
| Condition | Condition as listed | Used |
| Brand | The brand | Example Brand |
| Platform | Where it is listed | eBay |
| Notes | Anything you want to remember | Sample numbers, delete this row |
The second group is for your own math. Strooply's import ignores these columns, so they do not need to be removed.
| Column | What to enter | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Total Cost | Quantity remaining times purchase price: the money tied up in this row | 6.00 |
| Days in Stock | Today minus the purchase date. In a spreadsheet, use a formula such as =TODAY()-H2 | Calculated |
Give every item its own Custom SKU and write the bin or shelf in Storage Location. eBay's developer documentation gives a maximum SKU length of 50 characters, and says SKU uniqueness is not enforced except for multiple-variation listings.1 A repeated SKU is allowed, but it makes lookups unreliable, so keep each one unique in your own sheet. The guide on SKUs, bins and locations covers ways to name them. Those are working habits, not eBay rules.
Use Active for stock you still hold and Sold once it sells. An Active row for an item that is gone is the most common error in a stock sheet, because it makes the total look larger than it is. Change the row the day the item sells.
Total Cost is the quantity remaining times the purchase price. Add it up across the Active rows to see the money tied up in unsold items. In Days in Stock, subtract the purchase date from today with a formula such as =TODAY()-H2 to see how long an item has been waiting. Both are your own arithmetic. They are not imported, and they are not a valuation of what the items would sell for.
Strooply's CSV import is on every plan in the app. Save the sheet as CSV UTF-8, upload it, review how each column maps, and confirm. Strooply's import reads CSV files, so save as CSV before you upload.
The Status column is not matched by its name. A row with no sold price, no sold date and no status comes in as Active, and you can pick the Status column yourself in the mapping step. Keep the header names as they are: a bare Date, Location or Item column can be read as the listing date, the storage location or the title.
Once the items are in Strooply, each keeps its cost, SKU and storage location. See eBay inventory management in Strooply for what it keeps, and how Strooply works for the rest.

Yes. The CSV is built in your browser, nothing is uploaded and no account is needed.
Yes. In Excel choose File, then Open and pick the CSV. Strooply's import reads CSV files, so save the sheet as CSV UTF-8 before importing it.
Use this one for stock you hold. Use the sales spreadsheet template to work out the profit on each sale. Both use the same header names for SKU, storage location and purchase price.
No. You type it yourself. Strooply's eBay connection is a separate feature of the app.
Active or Sold. Strooply also reads a row with a sold price or a sold date as sold.
Avoid it. eBay does not enforce unique SKUs outside multiple-variation listings, but a repeated SKU makes lookups unreliable.
Strooply is an app for eBay resellers that identifies items from photos, shows live comps and sold-price estimates, drafts eBay listings for your review, and tracks costs and profit.
